One of the first questions you should ask any mover is: "Are you insured?" Many of today's moving companies still operate without the proper coverage to protect your belongings during the move. Accidents happen, no matter how careful the mover is. But you can rest assured that BestWay Moving has got you covered.
There are three (3) options available to cover loss and/or damages during your move.
If you wish to use Option 2, arrangements must be made at least one week before the move begins. |
OPTION 1 - STANDARD VALUATION |
All moves are automatically covered by the standard liability (valuation) for the industry, which is $0.60 per pound per article and no more than $50.00 per article whichever is less. This amount will typically cover the costs required to repair damaged items, but not replace them. Certain items you have may not be adequately covered under this option. This type of insurance included in our hourly rate free of charge. |
OPTION 2 - FULL COVERAGE |
We recommend two insurance companies that offer full replacement value moving insurance direct to the shipper: Baker International and Moving Insurance. Full replacementcoverage is more comprehensive coverage than valuation, and generally offers more options(deductible levels, higher coverage).
This coverage option is a bit more involved, and needs to be obtained at least one week prior to the actual move day. |
OPTION 3 - HOME OWNER’S OR RENTER'S INSURANCE |
Your current home owners or renter's insurance agency may already provide coverage for your goods while in transit. Please check with your insurance agent to see if this coverage is provided to you. Be sure you have a written statement from your insurance company stating that your goods are covered while in transit. |
